Until recently, employers and employees in Vietnam have had to consult a variety of sources and websites to find out information on the country’s labor-related laws and regulations. To address this issues, USAID’s Governance for Inclusive Growth (GIG) Program provided a grant to the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) to develop a digital portal for VCCI to communicate with businesses on labor policies and to gather their feedback on the revision of labor laws. Employers and employees now are able to access information about salaries, insurance, the labor code, and other regulations in a comprehensive, one-stop portal rather than having to visit the individual digital portals of line ministries. This pilot portal was recently finished and published online at http://beavccivietnam.com.vn. VCCI will update the content of the website and take comments from the public before officially launching the portal at the end of July.

So what? Raising awareness and knowledge among businesses on Vietnamese and international labor policies and standards supports trade and investment and enhances national competitiveness.
