Managing HIV cases nationwide is complex and until now, HIV INFO - the software created to efficiently manage HIV cases nationally - was outdated.  In response, USAID’s Local Strategic Information activity provided technical and financial assistance to upgrade the software. HIV INFO now has several new information functions, including the ability to track HIV cases if the individual moves, HIV case verification status, and health insurance coverage. It also monitors individual patient treatment through its automatic link with clinical treatment databases. As a result, provincial health authorities from 20 provinces have already requested technical support for installation and training. So What? The upgraded HIV INFO software will enable Vietnamese health workers at all levels to monitor HIV cases, thereby helping Vietnam strengthen its HIV/AIDS response and ultimately measure progress towards the UNAIDS’s 90-90-90 goals. UNAID’s 90-90-90 goals state that by 2020, 90% of all people living with HIV (PLHIV) will know their HIV status; 90% of all people with diagnosed HIV infection will receive sustained antiretroviral therapy; and 90% of all people receiving antiretroviral therapy will have viral suppression.
