USAID-supported FUV’s Undergraduate Program in Liberal Arts, Sciences, and Engineering has kicked off student admissions and outreach for its first year, which commences in autumn 2018. FUV is Vietnam’s first fully independent non-profit university, and one key task ahead of it is to design its entire undergraduate experience. FUV combines the traditions of American liberal arts and engineering education with innovative technology and curriculum, which will ultimately develop the next generation of leaders in the country.
In the coming Co-Design Year, 50 students from the university’s inaugural class will join leading faculty members and staff to collaboratively develop and refine what undergraduate life will look like at FUV, covering all things from student government to experiential learning.
So What? Student-faculty co-design of a university is a cutting edge concept in Vietnam and it will enable FUV to build a culture of student engagement and empowerment.
