In preparation for Vietnam’s first Master’s Degree in SALT, USAID worked with University of Sydney to organize a workshop to develop a SALT curriculum. The workshop took place in Ho Chi Minh City from January 18 - 20 and was led by SALT expert Professor Lindy McAllister, as well as Vietnamese professionals from leading medical universities and hospitals in Vietnam. The Master’s Degree in SALT will be provided at Ho Chi Minh City University of Pharmacy and Medicine starting in June 2019.
So What? The Master’s of SALT students graduating from this program will become key experts for the development of SALT in Vietnam. As USAID works with Vietnam to create sustainable models for inclusion of persons with disabilities, improving trained human capital is critical to creating a sustainable model to improve the inclusion of persons with disabilities, our Program’s objective.
