USAID’s Vietnam Low Emission Energy Program (V-LEEP) is working with Vietnam’s private sector to accelerate clean energy development and increase adoption of energy efficient solutions . On August 27, the program signed a letter of support with T&T Group, a Vietnamese private firm, to help it develop its first solar power project in Ninh Thuan province. T&T Group is a multinational corporation with $880 million in total assets spread across finance, real estate, agro forestry, logistics, industry and trade and healthcare. V-LEEP will support T&T to understand and meet international investors’ best practice standards, identify viable domestic and international financing sources, and procure world class technical experts and technologies to ensure successful project construction and operation. The first phase of T&T’s renewable energy project is planned to achieve commercial operation by June 2019.
So What? Through its support to private partners like T&T, USAID helps private sector leaders to usher in the modern energy technologies that will power Vietnam’s clean, smart, and secure economic growth.
