The following is attributable to Acting Spokesperson Clayton M. McCleskey:
United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Mark Green met today with Charlotte Petri Gornitzka, Chair of the Development Assistance Committee (DAC) of the Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) during the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Administrator Green and Chair Gornitzka discussed their shared vision for promoting more effective and efficient approaches to investments in development assistance. They also agreed DAC members should promote innovative ways to measure long-term development progress, and move countries from being recipients of aid, to become partners, and ultimately, fellow donors. The Administrator and Chair explored opportunities to use Official Development Assistance to catalyze other financial flows, including from the private sector. Administrator Green thanked the Chair for her leadership, and pledged continued U.S. engagement.
