DEVELOPMENT OUTREACH & COMMUNICATIONS ADVISOR - SENEGAL
Dear Prospective Offerors:
The new, five-year, $15 million Feed the Future Senegal Policy Systems Services, administered by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), aims to strengthen Senegal’s agricultural and food policy systems by working with the Government of Senegal, the Senegalese private sector, and civil society to create an enabling environment that contributes to accelerated and inclusive growth. Reforms will support the Plan Senegal Emergent (PSE), with broad stakeholder consensus on the priorities and mutual accountability for commitments to action in support of national plans.
The U.S. Government, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance, is providing $100,000 (more than 56 million FCFA) in disaster assistance for relief activities following devastating flooding across Senegal. The flood relief assistance is further evidence of the strong 60-year relationship between the United States and Senegal. The emergency funding, which was authorized in September by U.S. Ambassador Dr. Tulinabo Mushingi in a Disaster Declaration following a request by the Senegalese government, will support the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC) assistance to the hardest hit households.
The U.S. Government, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), is supporting the Government of Senegal’s efforts to decontaminate and disinfect treatment centers and households of COVID-19 positive cases. The USAID Medicines, Technologies and Pharmaceutical Services (MTaPS) activity, is working closely with the Ministry of Health and Social Action to support its Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) measures of the country’s COVID-19 response plan.
