Local Works was launched in 2015 in response to legislation enacted by Congress to integrate locally led development practices into Agency operations and programs. Local Works provides funding to competitively-selected USAID missions on an annual basis. Local Works funds may also be used for unsolicited proposals/applications to missions that are consistent with the purposes of the program, and may be considered at any time.
