U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission Director Jerry Bisson joined President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain today for the inauguration ceremony of the USAID-funded $1.5 million Faculty of Education building at the Karakoram International University (KIU).  KIU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Khalil Ahmed was also present at the event.

The United States and the Aurat Foundation today celebrated seven years of achievements in enhancing gender equity in Pakistan at the closing ceremony of the Gender Equity Program (GEP).  The program implemented by the United States Government through the United States Agency for International Development, was the largest stand-alone gender initiative since the founding of Pakistan 70 years ago.

The Mango Gala showcased USAID’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s mango sector. The event also brought together public and private mango sector stakeholders to discuss export trends and explore new opportunities.  Leading mango producers and exporters displayed Pakistan’s many mango varieties.

United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission Director John Groarke, Secretary of the Ministry of National Health Services Muhammad Ayub Shaikh, Executive Director Health Services Academy Dr. Assad Hafeez, and Secretary Health Department Government of Sindh Dr. Fazlullah Pechuho signed the three new project commitment letters for the U.S. Government to provide budgetary support for Pakistani public health endeavors..

U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)  Mission Director John Groarke, Dr. Muktar Ahmed, chairman of the Higher Education Commission, and Dr. Balig ur Rehman, State Minister of Federal Education and Training inaugurated the new $1.5 million Faculty of Education building at Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU), constructed by USAID to attract the best and brightest young Pakistani women to the teaching profession.
