The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) recently marked the completion of a partnership that has helped make atoll communities in Yap, Federated States of Micronesia, more resilient.
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) signed a Letter of Agreement with Fiji Development Bank (FDB) formalizing a shared commitment to help the bank gain accreditation with the Green Climate Fund, a financial mechanism under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. This accreditation will allow FDB to access international funding for projects that make communities more resilient to extreme weather and natural disasters.

U.S. Ambassador to the Federated States of Micronesia Robert Annan Riley III today was joined by the Secretary of Finance, Sihna N. Lawrence, to lead the completion ceremony of a project preparation training program that has strengthened the capacity of the Federated States of Micronesia’s leaders to develop effective environmental and disaster preparedness projects in the country.
