U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Mark Green will travel to North Carolina to deliver remarks to the Accord Network Forum at the Ridgecrest Conference Center on Wednesday, October 2, 2019. The Administrator will discuss the contributions of faith-based organizations to development and the importance of fostering partnerships with the faith community in realizing the aspirations of people around the world for dignity and self-reliance.

The Administrator will also meet with leadership from Samaritan's Purse, a faith-based organization based in Boone, North Carolina. The organization has been on the ground in The Bahamas to assist the immediate needs of people affected by Hurricane Dorian and support recovery efforts, including through the deployment of a field hospital in Freeport, on Grand Bahama Island.

While in North Carolina, the Administrator will speak about the New Partnership Initiative, USAID's initiative to work with a more diverse range of partners that include faith-based and local community partners. He will also speak about the U.S. Government's latest support for persecuted ethnic and religious minorities in Northern Iraq.
