U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Deputy Administrator Bonnie Glick will travel to Hungary from November 24 to November 27, 2019.
Deputy Administrator Glick will be delivering remarks at the 2nd International Conference on Christian Persecution hosted by the Government of Hungary in Budapest. The Deputy Administrator will discuss how USAID is working to support global religious freedom and to assist groups that are targeted or marginalized for their faith.
On the margins of the conference, Deputy Administrator Glick will meet with USAID partners and stakeholders in the field of religious freedom. The Deputy Administrator will also meet with Hungarian officials to discuss USAID's ongoing collaborative assistance with Hungary Helps in communities that were targeted for genocide by ISIS. Lastly, Deputy Administrator Glick will meet with USAID staff based in Budapest who oversee and coordinate U.S. disaster responses in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia.
