U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Mark Green visited the Federal Republic of Germany on November 8-9, 2019.

On November 8, 2019, Administrator Green attended the premiere of a documentary at the European Democracy Youth Network (EDYN) conference. At the screening, the Administrator delivered keynote remarks to a group of 45 young political and civic leaders from across Europe and Eurasia, as well as other invited guests. He emphasized the critical role young people can play in bridging divides to support common goals and reinvigorate citizen-responsive democratic institutions.

With funding from USAID, the documentary by Bosnian film-production collective Magacin Kabare profiled the lives and impact of 10 young political and civic leaders - members of EDYN - to document the next generation of Eastern European changemakers as they write their own democratic story

While in Berlin, the Administrator joined Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and U.S. Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell for the unveiling of a statue of President Ronald Reagan. The statue honors the role President Reagan played in securing the victory of democracy over communism.

USAID's Assistant Administrator for Europe and Eurasia Brock Bierman accompanied the Administrator.
