On behalf of the U.S. Agency for International Development's global team, we welcome President Trump's intent to nominate Mark Andrew Green to serve as the next USAID Administrator and look forward to working with him to advance USAID's mission.
Mark is familiar to many of us at USAID. As President of the International Republican Institute, he worked closely with USAID on democracy, human rights, and governance programs; as U.S. Ambassador to Tanzania, he oversaw some of the U.S. Government's largest development programs; and as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, he repeatedly championed legislation to promote global health.
A leader in development and humanitarian assistance, Mark's extensive experience in everything from global disease prevention to private sector engagement will serve the American people well as he directs USAID's efforts to advance U.S. security and prosperity and end extreme poverty.
We look forward to working with the Senate to support his confirmation.
