The following is attributable to Spokesperson Tom Babington:
On July 18, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Mark Green met with The Honorable Péter Szijjártó, Hungary's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, on the margins of the Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom.
Administrator Green commended Minister Szijjártó for the Government of Hungary's efforts to support persecuted religious and ethnic minorities in Iraq. The two officials affirmed the strong partnership between USAID and the Government of Hungary on promoting religious pluralism in the Middle East, highlighted by a December 2018 Memorandum of Understanding. Administrator Green also noted USAID's recently announced Framework for Countering Malign Kremlin Influence, as a means to create greater economic and democratic resilience throughout Europe.
