The following is attributable to Acting Spokesperson Tom Babington:
United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Mark Green met today with Czech Foreign Minister Tomás Petříček. Administrator Green reinforced how much USAID values the Czech Republic as a partner in promoting development and democracy, safeguarding elections, defending human rights, and strengthening civil society across the world.
Administrator Green commended the Czech Republic's efforts to counter malign influence in Europe and Eurasia, such as efforts to shine light on disinformation campaigns. The two officials discussed new opportunities to bolster democratic, citizen-responsive governance and ensure free and fair elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Ethiopia. Administrator Green and Prime Minister Petříček also discussed collaborating on humanitarian initiatives in Syria, Yemen, and Venezuela.
