I am pleased to announce that the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has received clearance from Congress to proceed with creating four new Bureaus as a part of USAID's Transformation process: the Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance, the Bureau for Conflict-Prevention and Stabilization, the Bureau for Resilience and Food Security, and the new Bureau for Asia.
The ultimate objective of USAID's Transformation is to strengthen the Agency to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow. Each piece of the Transformation's restructuring is important and serves a distinct purpose. The overall plan we put forward to Congress serves as the foundation for a field-focused and nimble Agency, equipped to help our partners advance along the journey to self-reliance. Thus, I am fully committed to continue working with Congress to seek approvals as quickly as possible for the remaining Congressional Notifications.
We have achieved this milestone thanks to Congress and USAID employees around the globe who worked together to ensure this Transformation will secure our Agency's global leadership for many years to come.
