The following is attributable to Acting Spokesperson Tom Babington:
United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Mark Green met with representatives of partner countries and organizations during the World Bank Spring Meetings. He discussed support for governments, civil society, and the private sector in partner countries on their journey to self-reliance; actions to prevent sexual exploitation, trafficking and abuse in the aid sector; stabilization and development in the Sahel; the humanitarian response to Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh; assistance to vulnerable Venezuelans who have fled to neighboring countries to escape repression and deprivation; the response to the outbreak of Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo; support for efforts to prevent future humanitarian crises; economic and governance reforms in developing countries; women's economic empowerment; and partnerships with the private sector.
During the Spring Meetings, the Administrator met with the following leaders:
- The Honorable Faustin-Archange Touadéra, President of the Central African Republic;
- The Honorable Hassan Ali Khaire, Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia;
- The Honorable Ken Ofori-Atta, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Ghana;
- The Honorable Susanna Moorehead, Chair of the Development Assistance Committee of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD-DAC);
- The Honorable Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Secretary of State to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France;
- Filippo Grandi, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR);
- The Honorable Peter Eriksson, Minister for International Development Cooperation of Sweden;
- Mark Lowcock, Under-Secretary-General and Emergency Relief Coordinator of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA);
- Peter Sands, Executive Director of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria;
- The Honorable Gerd Mueller, Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development of the Federal Republic of Germany; and
