At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was the launching ceremony of the VIII Salon Cacao & Chocolate 2017. The ceremony was attended by Peruvian authorities, USAID Peru Mission Director Lawrence Rubey and Edo Stork representing the United Nations.
Peru will have the VIII Salon from July 6th to 9th. This is the most important exhibition and sale space of this tasty food, and aims to integrate the different national and international operators in the value chain of Peruvian cacao and chocolate.
Mr. Rubey highlighted the importance of the USG´s support for the development of the Peruvian cacao industry during the last 16 years, especially in Huanuco, San Martin and Ucayali regions. USAID has contributed to the installation of approximately half the hectares of cacao in Peru.
