At the Cultural Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was the launching ceremony of the IX Salon Cacao & Chocolate 2018. The ceremony was attended by Peruvian authorities, USAID Peru Mission Director Lawrence Rubey and Koenraad Lenaerts Ambassador of Belgium to Peru.

Peru will have the IX Salon from July 19th to 22nd. This is the most important exhibition and sale space of this tasty food, and aims to integrate the different national and international operators in the value chain of Peruvian cacao and chocolate.

Mr. Rubey highlighted the importance of the Alternative Development Program of USAID in Peru that supports the development of the Peruvian cacao industry during the last 17 years, helping thousands of Peruvian families to escape poverty, away from the illegal cultivation of coca and supporting them in the cultivation of cacao and other products native to Peru.
