Derrick S. Brown was sworn in as the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission Director for Bangladesh in July 2018.

As a Senior Foreign Service Officer holding the rank of Minister Counselor, Mr. Brown brings to the position more than 30 years of development experience. Most recently, he served as USAID Mission Director in Angola from 2016 to 2018. Also, he served as USAID Deputy Mission Director in Indonesia for three years and Acting Mission Director for a year. Prior to that, he served in Botswana, Tanzania, Mozambique, Ghana, the Dominican Republic and Afghanistan.

Mr. Brown earned his Bachelor of Science from Alabama State University and a Master of Science from the University of Maryland.
