The following is attributable to Acting Spokesperson Tom Babington:
U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Mark Green met last week with the Secretary of State for International Development of the United Kingdom, The Right Honourable Penny Mordaunt, M.P., to discuss their shared commitment to supporting the humanitarian needs of the Venezuelan people. They also agreed to continue to pursue innovative models for helping countries finance their own journey to self-reliance.
The two officials voiced mutual concern around the humanitarian and development consequences of instability, especially in Yemen, Nigeria, and in the Sahel, and Administrator Green welcomed continued collaboration with the United Kingdom in these regions. Administrator Green and Secretary Mordaunt also discussed their shared priority of preventing the sexual exploitation and abuse of beneficiaries.
