The following is attributable to Spokesperson Clayton M. McCleskey:
USAID Administrator Mark Green met with the Ecuadorian Ambassador to the United States Francisco Carrión on Tuesday in Washington. They discussed opportunities to deepen cooperation between USAID and Ecuador, especially in terms of preparing for, and responding to disasters.
The Administrator and Ambassador Carrion also discussed growing regional concern over the rapidly deteriorating situation in Venezuela, the result of the corrupt Maduro regime's tyranny and economic mismanagement. The Administrator underscored the U.S. Government's commitment to working with countries in the region to help Venezuelans who have fled the chaos and deprivation in their country.
