U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Mark Green will deliver remarks at the Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom on Tuesday, July 16, 2019.

The second Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom will convene government officials, representatives of international organizations, faith leaders, rights advocates, and members of civil-society organizations from around the world to discuss challenges to religious freedom; identify concrete means to address the persecution of, and discrimination against, religious groups; and promote greater respect for religious freedom for all. The Ministerial is taking place in Washington, D.C., July 16-18, 2019.

Administrator Green will speak about the dependencies between development and religious freedom, and the importance of engagement with faith-based stakeholders for the success of programs in multiple sectors. He will also discuss how religious freedom helps propels USAID beneficiaries on the Journey to Self-Reliance as they transform from beneficiaries to partners to donors.
