OVERVIEW

USAID’s Textbook II Printing and Distribution Project supports Afghanistan’s Ministry of Education (MoE) to expand access to and improve the quality of basic education for Afghanistan’s school-aged children. Through this project, USAID partners with the Government of Afghanistan (GoA) to print and distribute appropriate, MoE-approved textbooks and teachers’ guides.

ACTIVITIES

• Printing of 135 million textbooks for grades 1-12 and 530,000 teachers’ guides.
• The distribution of these textbooks and teachers’ guides to provincial education directorates, district education directorates, and schools.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

• Implementation letter signed between USAID and the GoA to provide funding to print and distribute textbooks and teachers’ guides to all 34 provinces.
