USAID’s Central Africa Regional Program for the Environment (CARPE) works to maintain the ecological integrity of the humid forest ecosystem of the Congo Basin. It strengthens forest management in priority carbon-rich, biologically sensitive, and diverse landscapes across the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), the Republic of Congo (ROC), and the Central African Republic (CAR). U.S. Government assistance also promotes environmental policy reform and forest ecosystems monitoring in six Central African countries (DRC, ROC, CAR, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Cameroon). Current activities implemented by NGO and U.S. Government partners focus on protected area management, empowering communities, engaging private sector and strengthening policy and capacity:
USAID Development Activities in the DRC
Under the overall supervision of the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Team Leader, the Child Health Specialist is responsible for ensuring quality implementation and monitoring of the Child Health (CH) activities in the USAID health portfolio. The target group includes newborns, infants, and children under age 5 years, which roughly represents 20% of the DRC population.
The United States Government, represented by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), is seeking offers from qualified persons to provide personal services under contract as described in this solicitation. Offers must be in accordance with Attachment 1 of this solicitation. Incomplete or unsigned offers will not be considered. Offerors should retain copies of all offer materials for their records.
This solicitation in no way obligates USAID to award a PSC contract, nor does it commit USAID to pay any cost incurred in the preparation and submission of the offers.
The incumbent is expected to work independently and will be evaluated by the Systems Manager at the end of the rating period. The incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of USAID DRC's LAN and telephone systems; develops and modifies programs to meet the Mission's rapidly changing IT environment. The incumbent provides the full range of training to users and conducts troubleshooting as needs require. The incumbent is responsible for documenting LAN activities as well as settings performed on daily basis.
