USAID is undertaking an aggressive approach towards controlling the HIV epidemic in Côte d’Ivoire with the expansion of access to prevention, care, and treatment services.  For more than 10 years, USAID’s Health Office has worked closely with other U.S. Government agencies to help save the lives of thousands of individuals infected and affected by HIV and AIDS in Côte d’Ivoire through the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).  USAID’s PEPFAR program in Côte d’Ivoire includes; clinical services through private sector facilities, community based support for HIV services, supply chain strengthening to ensure easy access to lifesaving commodities, support to orphans and vulnerable children, evidenced-based prevention programs, and strategic analysis of program data and information for making programmatic decisions. USAID collaborates with the Ivorian government, the private sector, and non-governmental organizations to provide services to people living with HIV and AIDS and their families, with the aim of slowing down the spread of the virus and providing hope for people living with the disease.
