Agribusiness is essential to stimulating rural development, generating employment opportunities, and creating stable foundations for broader economic growth. USAID’s Agribusiness Development project helps generate jobs and increase household incomes in targeted rural regions of BiH by supporting the development and expansion of cornichon, vegetable, and berry production and sales for small-scale farmers. This is a 30-month, $432,000 project implemented by MKF Partner.
The project will establish the Via Dinarica corridor in BiH as a community-owned and operated rural tourism product that provides sustainable livelihoods for businesses and communities situated along the trails. The program will identify and map value chains along the trails featuring cultural, traditional, natural, and gastronomic products, and integrate them into tourism packages.
Not a day goes by in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) in which ethnic and religious divisions – the foundation and a remnant of the 1992-95 war – are not seen, heard, used for political gain, or otherwise felt firsthand. That in itself makes the Bosnian government’s adoption of the Platform for Peace all the more remarkable.
This program works to reduce the risk of violent extremism in schools and communities by strengthening the preventive role of the education system. It does this by instilling values-based learning and critical thinking into school culture, policies, and practices. Our implementing partner for this three-year $500,000 program is the Center for Educational Initiatives Step by Step.

Political elites, driven exclusively by narrow party and personal interests, are characterized by the general absence of responsibility or concern for the best interests of the public.
