Sarajevo, 22 March, 2018 – The United States Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Maureen Cormack, and the Prime Minister of Federation of BiH, Fadil Novalic, are launching the Cantonal Budget Management Information Systems, also known as the “E-Budget” system, on Tuesday, March 27 at 1:00 pm, at the Hotel Holiday’s Herzegovina room. All Media are invited to come.

The E-Budget system enables all FBiH Cantons to prepare their budgets on an up to date, state of the art platform. With this system all Cantons are automatically linked into the FBiH Ministry of Finance’s budget planning system which greatly facilitates, speeds up and standardizes cantonal budget preparation processes.

The launching of E-Budget system will mark the completion of significant technical assistance which has been provided by USAID’s projects currently operating in Bosnia Herzegovina, namely the Fiscal Sector Reform Activity (FAR) and the Strengthening Government Institutions and Processes (SGIP). USAID FAR has provided software, hardware and training to all ten Cantonal Finance Ministries, and the Federal Ministry of Finance. USAID’s SGIP project has incorporated a major boost to transparency as it includes the Financial Impact Assessment module that enable real time data entry available for public scrutiny.

This event will be also attended by the Federation BiH Minister of Finance as well as ten Cantons Prime Ministers and Ministers of Finance that will co-sign Transfer document with American Ambassador Cormack.

The following are opened for media:
