MALESI E MADHE, ALBANIA     USAID’s local solutions partner, AAC Lushnja, is supporting and providing technical assistance to Medicinal and Aromatic Plant (MAP) growers in Albania related to improvement of post-harvest practices which significantly impact the quality of product. Usually for collection of MAPs, farmers use old containers which in some cases have been used for chemicals or other purposes. Last week, the project delivered 2,000 sacks to farmers in Malesi e Madhe and Gjirokaster/Delvine. This intervention will serve as a model for other collectors and growers of MAPs to avoid contaminates, facilitate collection and handling, and secure better quality of products.
