Overview

This reference advises that the Delegation of Authority to Mission Directors and other Principal Officers of USAID field posts to settle, compromise, suspend, waive or terminate collection action on non-taxpayer identification number (TIN) debts, excluding sovereign debts, has been increased from the current ceiling amount of $5,000 to $25,000. The ceiling amount applies to the principal balance of the debt, exclusive of accrued interest, penalty or administrative costs. This authority also does not apply to Public Law 480 Food for Peace claims. The ceiling increase effective date is 1/11/2011.
