Overview
The National Industrial Security Program (NISP) serves as a single, cohesive industrial security program to protect classified information and to preserve our nation's economic and technological interests. As per Executive Order 12829, the purpose of this program is to safeguard classified information that may be released or has been released to current, prospective, or former contractors, licensees, or grantees of United States agencies (see Executive Order (EO) 12829, National Industrial Security Program).
