Overview
USAID has adopted the Office of Management and Budget’s (OMB) mandated standard desktop security configuration, the Federal Desktop Core Configuration (FDCC), which establishes standards for creating passwords. Standard password requirements have also been adopted by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and have been incorporated into the NIST’s Federal Information Processing Standards Publications (FIPS) and Special Publications (SPs) in an effort to remain compliant with FDCC standards.
