To solve the world’s most intractable development challenges, USAID proactively seeks to build partnerships that leverage the diverse skills, assets, technologies and resources of the private, public and nonprofit sectors.

Since 2001, USAID has built more than 1,800 partnerships with the private sector involving more than 3,900 unique partner organizations.

The Agency reported more than 422 active public-private partnerships in 2016 with at least one private sector partner, with 127 new reported partnerships since 2015. These partnerships engaged more than 1,193 partners, including 882 private sector parters, 237 of which were U.S.-based companies. The partnerships spanned 98 countries.
