Kenneth J. Hill is the Executive Secretary of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

Mr. Hill leads the Office of the Executive Secretariat (ES), overseeing the liaison and operations teams as they maintain coordination and communication both within USAID and between USAID and the interagency. He brings nearly 30 years of government service to this role.

Mr. Hill most recently held the position of President of Goldbelt-Wolf, LLC, and was previously a Member of the Board of Directors of CRA, Inc., and Executive Vice President of Centuria Corporation.

In the beginning days of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Mr. Hill played a pivotal role as a member of the Secretary’s Senior Leadership Team, establishing the Department’s Executive Secretariat and serving as its first Executive Secretary. Previously he served as the Deputy Executive Secretary in the White House Office of Homeland Security.

Following the September 11, 2001, attacks, Mr. Hill served as a Public Liaison Officer at the Department of Defense. Prior to this work, he was the Deputy Executive Secretary of the National Security Council, the Director of External Affairs for the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and held several positions in the White House.

Early in his career he spent 11 years in the Foreign Service at the Department of State. Mr. Hill began his career as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army.
