Today at the Social Capital Markets conference (SOCAP19), the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and other partners announced the Million Lives Club, a multi-donor initiative that celebrates innovations that are improving the lives of more than one million people who are living on less than $5 a day.
Founded by leading donor organizations, the Million Lives Club is welcoming 44 members to its roster, and is creating a global community of partners committed to innovation and helping innovators reach the next level of impact. To date, innovations recognized by the Million Lives Club have affected more than 260 million lives; USAID has funded 15 of the innovations previously, which have improved more than 62 million lives.
The Million Lives Club is composed of three cohorts:
The Million Lives Club recognizes that social innovators who have reached transformative numbers of clients can encourage the uptake and scaling of new ideas for global good, everywhere.
