The following is attributable to Acting Spokesperson Tom Babington:
United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Deputy Administrator Bonnie Glick met yesterday with Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath of Curaçao and Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes of Aruba in Washington, D.C. Deputy Administrator Glick discussed the regional impacts of Venezuela's man-made humanitarian crisis, and thanked the Prime Ministers for their countries' support for the thousands of Venezuelans who have fled to Aruba and Curaçao.
Deputy Administrator Glick noted that USAID has pre-positioned critically-needed medical supplies in Curaçao, and thanked the Governments of Curaçao, Aruba, and the Kingdom of the Netherlands for their continued partnership in working to provide assistance to people affected by the crisis in Venezuela.
Deputy Administrator Glick also reiterated USAID's commitment to working with Curaçao and Aruba to support the Caribbean as hurricane season approaches and expressed USAID's gratitude for their offers to serve as staging areas, if needed, for assistance to impacted islands.
