The Ministry of Industry and Commerce launched today Mozambique’s AGOA Utilization Strategy. Designed to increase trade and economic growth throughout Africa, the Strategy will help ensure Mozambican businesses are better positioned to use AGOA for duty free access to the U.S. market for more than 6,500 products.
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in support of Power Africa has developed a geospatial tool to guide the advancement of the Zambia energy sector. The USAID Southern Africa Energy Program (SAEP) collaborated with the Zambia Ministry of Energy and the Rural Electrification Authority (REA) to produce the tool, which identifies areas without power and presents the lowest-cost electrification options
Argentine Ambassador Javier Figueroa in representation of the Directorate General of International Cooperation of the Republic of Argentina and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Southern Africa Director John Groarke signed a Memorandum of Understanding on April 26, 2018 to work as partners to further development in Southern Africa. Nal’ibali, the national reading-for-enjoyment campaign, has partnered with United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to bring the campaign’s proven approach to literacy development to selected rural schools in the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal provinces. Focussing on nurturing a love of reading for joy in English and home languages to spark children’s potential and unlock their school learning, the schools’ initiative, titled: ‘Story Powered Schools: A South African Reading Revolution’, is launching with the new school year this January.
