Today, United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Mark Green met with Roosevelt Skerrit, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica.  Administrator Green reiterated the U.S. Government's concern and support for the people of Dominica, and extended his thoughts to those affected by Hurricane Maria. 

Administrator Green noted that USAID's Disaster Assistance Response Team is on the ground in Dominica delivering immediate humanitarian assistance and continuing to coordinate relief and recovery efforts with the international community.  To date, USAID has delivered more than 33 metric tons of relief supplies to Dominica and provided $300,000 to the Dominica Red Cross and Samaritan's Purse for relief supplies, debris clearance, and to address water, sanitation, and shelter needs. 

These relief efforts are part of USAID's regional Caribbean-wide response following Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria.  USAID has provided nearly 162 metrics tons of relief items to Dominica, Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, St. Kitts and Nevis, and Dutch St. Maarten.
