Given the diverse array of performance management tasks to be completed over a CDCS period, USAID guidance calls for the inclusion of a PMP Task Management Calendar. This calendar is expected to be of greatest use at the Mission level, where it will be utilized and updated frequently. The version included in this kit reflects updates in USAID terminology—since the 2003 PMP toolkit—now included in USAID's updated Monitoring Toolkit.

In its ADS guidance on the preparation of a PMP, USAID suggests that a PMP task management calendar is developed at the DO level that identifies all of the key monitoring, evaluation and learning tasks over the expected life of the DO. The calendar should contain an approximate timeline for the completion of each task. Typical performance management tasks listed in ADS 201 include, but may not be limited to :

• Reviewing partner reports;
• Conducting site visits and routine meetings;
• Conducting Portfolio Reviews;
• Assessing data quality;
• Updating and revising the PMP as needed;
• Preparing the annual Performance Report; and
• Designing and conducting evaluations as planned and as needed.

An example of how a Mission might develop a detailed PMP Task Management Calendar with a DO that has a trade focus in mind is provided below.
