96 percent of Syrian refugees are in neighboring countries including Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq and Egypt. The United States is the single largest global donor to the Syrian crisis, helping to feed, shelter, heal and educate millions of Syrians. We have provided over $4.5 billion in life-saving humanitarian assistance, reaching an estimated 5 million Syrians every month. While aid is helping, more is needed. See how one refugee family in Jordan is working to get by each month.
Update: Fortunately, with an additional influx of funding in mid-October, families like the one featured have started receiving food assistance once again. While not the full support refugees initially got, it helps keep food on the table. There is currently enough funding to keep this level of assistance through spring 2016.
