Vohipeno, Madagascar People call me Ms. Brunette. I'm a mother of three. I'm a Community Health Volunteer offering family planning services in this small village called Karimbelo, Masiry. I've been a Community Health Volunteer for almost a decade now, and I'm glad to have this opportunity to take care of child illnesses, and offer family planning methods to women in such a remote community. The USAID ACCESS program supports Madagascar's Ministry of Public Health to implement its mobile health strategy, and improve the quality of community health services and the reporting of health data. The use of the CommCare app was quite difficult in the beginning, but after receiving training and with practice, using it has gradually become easier. Now, we have mastered the CommCare mobile app. When someone comes to me for family planning services, I use CommCare. I launch the app and begin by asking the person for their contact details and health status. the app automatically saves the profile for future use. Then, I just follow the step-by-step guidance from the app. It even corrects me when I make mistakes and reminds me if I forget something. This CommCare application is great because it speeds up the process, and it considerably easing our reporting work compared to paper reports. I do my job more efficiently thanks to the CommCare application. The USAID ACCESS program is scaling up the use of the CommCare mobile app to support the delivery of essential health care services, including family planning services, to people in remote communities.
