The Global HealthSecurity Agenda is a growing partnership of 64 nations, international organizations, and NGO stakeholders, established in February 2014 with the vision of keeping our world safe from global health threats posed by infectious diseases. USAID's Dennis Carrol, Director of Global Health Security and Development Unit, provided lessons learned on the West Africa Ebola and best practices on how to address new and emerging disease threats as well as sustain critical health services. As he specializes in zoonotic diseases, the value of the One Health approach is that human health, animal health, and environmental experts, working together, have the opportunity to prevent pandemic threats before they "spill over" into human populations.
