In Somalia, I was pleased to formally re-establish a USAID mission in Mogadishu. Their upcoming elections are a historic opportunity to enshrine the principles of democracy. I also saw firsthand the potential of Somalia's private sector at a trade symposium showcasing USAID supported small businesses. I announced 185 million dollars in humanitarian assistance. America is the largest provider of humanitarian aid to Somalia, and is proud to stand with the Somali people and their leaders.
