On June 2, 2011, USAID-Mongolia hosted an event to mark 20 years of partnership between Mongolia and USAID. The event celebrated the country’s democratic transition into a free market economy over the past two decades.

Despite a relatively small budget, the partnership between Mongolia and USAID has been highly instrumental in contributing to this successful country transition. With over 150 of USAID’s key partners from government, private sector, and civil society organizations in attendance, the celebration highlighted key achievements from this partnership – such as helping to transform the country’s tax structure and trade policies to improve Mongolia’s investment climate.

Attendees heard stories of success from USAID-Mongolia partners, and two primary school students read their award-winning essays about their dreams for Mongolia’s future.
