U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Deputy Administrator Bonnie Glick will travel to Vietnam, Thailand, Bangladesh, and Indonesia from October 29 to November 11, 2019.

In Vietnam, the Deputy Administrator will meet with government representatives, civil society representatives, and private sector partners. In Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, she will participate in meetings and events highlighting recent benchmarks in the transition of the national HIV/AIDS response to domestic financing, joint USAID-Ministry of National Defense progress toward overcoming the legacy of Agent Orange in Vietnam, and new aspects of USAID's support in the areas of trade facilitation and energy security. She will also meet with students and faculty at the U.S. Government-supported Fulbright University Vietnam, the country's first fully independent, non-profit university which welcomed its first undergraduate class this fall.

In Thailand, she will participate in the Indo-Pacific Business Forum alongside senior administration officials. The Forum is the premier U.S.-sponsored business event in the Indo-Pacific region for 2019. During public remarks at the Forum, the Deputy Administrator will highlight the importance of private sector partnership in advancing the President's vision for a free, open, and secure Indo-Pacific region.

In Bangladesh, the Deputy Administrator will meet with government officials, implementing partners, and the American Chamber of Commerce. The Deputy Administrator will then travel to Cox's Bazar to observe USAID's development assistance for Bangladeshi communities affected by the Rohingya crisis and humanitarian efforts for Rohingya refugees.

In Indonesia, the Deputy Administrator will meet with government officials, highlight USAID's partnerships for sustainable fisheries, and visit a USAID-supported health facility. She will also tour a spice factory that supplies American companies, including Maryland-based McCormick & Company, with spices grown by USAID-supported Indonesian farmers.
