On April 3, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Mark Green will participate in a conference sponsored by the U.S. Institute of Peace called "Views from the U.S. Administration, Iraq and Syria Military Leaders and the Region." Administrator Green will join U.S. Central Command Commander General Joseph Votel, and the Department of State's Special Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS, Brett McGurk, for a panel discussion on the role of the United States in stabilizing Iraq and Syria after ISIS.

Administrator Green will discuss the importance of moving quickly to restore basic services so displaced people, including ethnic and religious minorities, can return home and begin rebuilding their lives and their communities. As the leading donor of humanitarian assistance to Iraq and Syria, the United States has provided nearly $7.7 billion in aid to the Syrian response since the start of the crisis, and $1.7 billion in humanitarian assistance for the Iraq crisis since 2014.

This event is open to the media, and will be available via livestream. To RSVP, please contact USIP's Paul Johnson, at pjohnson@usip.org, by 5 p.m. on Monday, April 2.

WHEN: Tuesday, April 3; 1:30 p.m.
