U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Mark Green announced that Eddy Acevedo became the National Security Advisor in the Office of the Administrator, effective on December 27, 2019.
As National Security Advisor, Mr. Acevedo advises the Administrator and Deputy Administrator of USAID on foreign-policy issues that intersect with development and humanitarian assistance, and serve as the principal liaison for the Agency on national-security and foreign-policy matters with the National Security Council, the U.S. Department of State, and other Executive Branch Departments and Agencies. Mr. Acevedo retains his role as Chief Legislative Strategist and continues to provide leadership and strategic counsel on key legislative efforts, in coordination with the Bureau for Legislative and Public Affairs.
