U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Assistant Administrator for Latin America and the Caribbean John Barsa will travel to Brazil from January 26 to February 1, 2020. He will be joined by Department of State Deputy Assistant Secretary for Western Hemisphere Affairs Carrie Filipetti.
During his trip, Assistant Administrator Barsa will meet with Government of Brazil officials, implementing partners, indigenous communities, and displaced Venezuelans to discuss how the man-made crisis in Venezuela is affecting Brazil and what the United States is doing to help. Barsa will also visit USAID projects, including projects that support wildfire prevention training and forest management.
