The following is attributable to Acting Spokesperson Tom Babington:
Today, U.S. Agency for International Development Administrator Mark Green met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United States His Excellency Fareed Yasseen, to reiterate the Administration's commitment to preserving Iraq's rich ethnic and religious diversity. They discussed both countries' mutual interest in ensuring the full recovery of Iraqis from the depredations of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), including the component communities of Ninewa Province and elsewhere in the north of the country. The Administrator appealed for the Iraqi Government to take steps to improve the security of the component communities in Ninewa, and to remove barriers to the delivery of humanitarian assistance.
